Before announcing the list of ministers, the Congress high command has invited Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to Delhi for last-minute talks.
Apart from cabinet discussions, the question of naming the state DGP could also be discussed at the meeting. According to sources, PPCC chief Navjot Sidhu has also been summoned to Delhi.
After deliberations that lasted until 2 a.m., Channi returned to Chandigarh on Friday morning. The new ministers in Charanjit Singh Channi’s cabinet are almost ready to be announced.
Though there has been widespread agreement on the candidates, top leaders such as Sunil Jakhar are providing last-minute criticism before the list is made public.
The official release of the list is now awaited, and the question still remains that when will the list be sent to the Governor.
