On Wednesday, the district Health Department announced two more Covid-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 1,598. Seema, a 42-year-old woman belonging to Ekta Nagar, and Sanjay Verma, a 53-year-old inhabitant of Friends Colony, have been confirmed as the victims.
They were admitted in the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in this city.
On October 27, the region reported four more positive cases, bringing the total to 47,364. There are currently 15 active cases within the district. In the previous few days, there has been an increase in the number of instances.
During the current vaccination push on Wednesday, 4,133 inhabitants were immunised. The first dosage of the vaccine was given to 2,093 people, and the second dose was given to 2,040 people.
