Actor Deep Sidhu has been charged with injuring the religious sensibilities of the Valmiki and Ravidas groups. An FIR was lodged regarding the same by the City Police Commissionerate on Tuesday.
The case was filed after Jassi Talhan, the chief of the Guru Ravidas Tiger Force, filed a complaint against it.
In a video, Deep Sidhu allegedly spoke nasty things about the Valmiki and Ravidas groups. The actor shared the video on his Facebook page, and it quickly became a social media sensation. Jassi Talhan and other members of the community have requested that Deep Sidhu be arrested right away.
Officers at the Baradari police station have initiated an inquiry based on the complainants’ claims after filing a case against Sidhu under Section 3 (1) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the IT Act, among other parts. Deep Sidhu rose to notoriety after this year’s Republic Day violence during ‘farmers’ protest’.
