Lakhimpur Kheri incident: Sidhu along with other party members detained by Police at Haryana-UP Border

Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Punjab Congress head, and several party leaders were arrested at Saharanpur, near the Haryana-UP border, where they were holding a strike on Thursday.

Sidhu has raised his voice for the arrest of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra’s son in connection with the deaths of farmers in Uttar Pradesh’s unrest.

He is threatening to go on a hunger fast if no action is made by Friday. Sidhu stated that he was willing to give his life for the sake of farmers.

Former ministers such as Balbir Singh Sidhu, Gurpreet Kangar, and Sunder Shyam Arora took part in the dharna , also present were Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa and Cabinet Ministers Pargat Singh and Vijay Inder Singla.

When the march was all  set to begin, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi also marked his presence by meeting Sidhu for a little period.

Sidhu and other leaders were spotted waving flags linked with the farmers’ agitation, with phrases such as “Kisan-mazdoor ekta zindabad.”
