Govt. Postpones paddy obtain from Punjab and Haryana until 11 October

The government has taken the decision to postpone the procurement of paddy from the states of Punjab and Haryana respectively until 11th of October. It is done because of the high moisture content in the crop caused by recent heavy rainfall in the area.

Punjab was supposed to start buying paddy on October 1st.

In a letter issued to the Punjab government from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has stated that due to the current rains the adulthood of paddy has been behind schedule and moisture content material withinside the clean arrival is past the permissible limit.
