Sonia Gandhi will choose the next Punjab Chief Minister after the elections, claims Harish Rawat

Harish Rawat, the Congress general secretary in charge of Punjab, stated on Monday that there is no animosity between Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and the PCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. He also said that the two will work together to win the 2022 elections.

“The Chief minister and Mr Sidhu will work together on everything. They’ll be collaborating to win the next election.” Rawat, who was in New Delhi today for the joining of Uttrakhand transport minister Yashpal Arya in the Congress, stated, “The Congress President will then select who the next CM would be.”

Sidhu resigned as President of the Punjab Congress on September 28 and shared his resignation letter on Twitter.

On Monday, Rawat stated unequivocally that his resignation had been rejected.

Rawat said any difficulties between the chief minister and Sidhu, who skipped the former’s son’s wedding in Chandigarh on Monday, will be addressed inside the party.
