GATE 2017 Schedule Released: Check Important Dates/Details Here!
The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IITR) has released the final schedule for GATE 2017 on the official website. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2017) will be held in the month of February next year.
The online application process will commence in September-October. Complete information and official notification about GATE 2017 will be posted on the official website www.gate.iitr.ernet.in on June 25.
GATE 2017 is scheduled to be held on four days (February 4 & 5 and February 11 & 12).
The link for GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) will be activated from September 01 2016, and the enrollment, application filling, and submission process will function till October 4, 2016. In short, the candidates will have 34 days to apply for GATE 2017.
Important Dates:
1) GATE online application processing begins on September 1, 2016.
2) The last date for submission of online application is October 4, 2016.
3) The last date for request of change in the choice of examination city is November 16, 2016.
4) The date for availability of admit card for printing is January 5, 2017.
5) The results will be announced on March 27, 2017.

The GATE is an all-India entrance test conducted annually to screen candidates for their comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering, technology, architecture and postgraduate level subjects in science.
The test is conducted on a rotation basis by seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) and IISc Bangalore on behalf of the National Coordination Board, Department of Higher Education & Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India.
GATE scores help Engineering aspirants to seek admission to post-graduate engineering programmes in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITS) and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc). The GATE scores are also considered by few public and private sector undertakings for employment processes.
The GATE score is valid for three years and there is no restriction in terms of the number of attempts for taking the test.
