The Bengal Tiger cubs at the Chhatbir Zoo are a tremendous hit
Two Bengal Tiger cubs that were born on May 8 this year were publically displayed for the first time at the Chhatbir zoo yesterday.
The amusing cubs drew a lot of attention from tourists and were especially popular with kids.
Yesterday, the zoo attracted 4,600 visitors, the highest number in a single day since it reopened with the Covid protocol. The largest single-day footfall was reported in January 2017, when 13,235 people visited the zoo.
On May 8, Diya, a white tigress, gave birth to two Bengal Tiger cubs at the Chhatbir zoo. Currently, Diya is eight years old and her sire is a nine-year-old Bengal Tiger named Aman. In 2019, Diya gave birth to three cubs. The names of the cubs were not officially released by the zoo.
The pair were now on a normal diet, according to a zoo official, and ate anything the mother ate. They said that they were growing in a healthy and positive manner.
