According to official sources, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has cleared prominent attorney Anmol Ratan Singh Sidhu’s name for the office of Punjab Advocate General.
Some sources suggest that the appointment will be announced very soon. Under the new Chief Minister, the state government initially approved senior counsel DS Patwalia for the position, but then reversed its decision.
Former advocate general Atul Nanda gave up his seat a few hours after Amarinder Singh stepped down as chief minister, leaving the seat vacant.
Anmol Sidhu has worked in the fields of criminal and constitutional law.
