Charanjit Singh Channi, the new Punjab Chief Minister, was seen dancing today in Kapurthala, Punjab. In a video shared by the Punjab CMO, the Chief Minister was seen bursting into bhangra on stage while wearing a yellow turban and an all-white costume.
The Chief Minister was spotted dancing to the tune of Punjabi musician Gurman Birdi’s “Bhangra Boliyan” with pupils dressed in bright folk-dance attire.

On Monday, Mr. Channi was sworn in as Punjab’s Chief Minister, making him the state’s first Dalit to hold the position. The swearing-in took place just two days after Amarinder Singh’s resignation and four months before the Punjab election.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by several important Congress politicians, including Rahul Gandhi, Harish Rawat, and Navjot Singh Sidhu.
