Rajasthan minister Harish Chaudhary is expected to replace Harish Rawat as the new Punjab Affairs incharge, after serving as a crucial liaison between Rahul Gandhi and Punjab Congress leaders amid recent happenings in the state.
Rawat is likely to arrive in Chandigarh by Saturday to give proper functioning to the working arrangements finalized amongst CM Charanjit Channi and PPCC chairman Navjot Singh Sidhu. He even attended the meeting on Thursday evening which was meant to overcome the deadlock between Channi and Sidhu.
After Capt Amarinder Singh was deposed, Harish Chaudhary was instrumental in Channi’s ascent to CM.
Harish is a close comrade to Rahul Gandhi and is supposed to play a major role in developing coordination between Channi and Sidhu in the run-up to the Assembly Election.
