Piracy at peak! 732 websites with illegal link of ‘Udta Panjab’

The much anticipated and talked about Shahid Kapur, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer “Udta Punjab” is in another soup. This time it is not judicial trouble, but internet woes that have left the producer-director- actors twiddling their thumbs in anxiety. News reports have confirmed that the illegal link for watching “Udta Punjab” has surfaced on the web!

There are plenty of people rejoicing as there are nearly 732 websites which have been detected with the illegal link of the controversial “Udta Punjab”. They can now watch their much awaited “Udta Punjab” at home through their web connection. This was recently confirmed by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce’s anti-piracy wing.

A Raj Kumar, the head of anti-piracy wing, Hyderabad, stated that “It is clear that the movie is a copy that was submitted to the udta1(CBFC) for certification.”On Wednesday, Udta Punjab was handed over the CBFC certificate and the same day it had been made available on the internet. This came to the notice of the filmmakers and they immediately contacted the Mumbai Police Cyber crime cell and lodged a complaint. Raj Kumar revealed “We were also contacted to identify the sites on which it is available. We are now getting them removed.”

The movie is about 2 hours and 20 minutes and the complete flick has been leaked on the internet before its scheduled release of Friday. Even the DVD market is flourishing as the movie has been available in Mumbai too. The print of the movie clearly reveals “For censor” written on it and this makes the finger point towards the CBFC office.

The identified websites have been asked to remove the movie link but the movie is still springing up on other websites and the anti-piracy wing is in full force searching out for the defaulters and has been warning the filmmakers about them!
