The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for the September 2016 Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
According to the official notification released, the exam is scheduled to be held on September 18, 2016 in two shifts at various centers across the nation. It will be the tenth edition of the CTET organized by CBSE.
Interested and eligible candidates need to apply for CTET February 2015 via the online mode at the official website
www.ctet.nic.in
from 22.06.2016 to 18.07.2016.
Eligibility criteria
CTET is a mandatory qualification for candidates to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII in any of the schools.
Applicants wanting to become teachers of (VI to VIII) should have graduated/passed or appearing in final year of 2 year diploma in elementary education.
Candidates wanting to become teachers for classes I to V will have to appear for Paper I while those wishing to teach classes VI to VIII will have to appear for Paper II. Aspirants wishing to teach both the levels of primary stage (classes I to V) & elementary stage (VI to VIII) have to appear for both the papers.
The exam paper will have objective type, multiple choice questions. For every correct answer, the candidates will get one mark. Negative marking is not applicable for wrong answers.
Aspirants can make numerous attempts to acquire a CTET Certificate as there are no restrictions. Individuals who have qualified CTET can participate in the exam for improving his/her score. The validity period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.
Application Process:
Candidates can register online on the official website www.ctet.nic.in by paying an application fee.
General/OBC candidates have to pay Rs.600 for (paper I or paper II). The combined fee for both exams is Rs.1000 (paper I and paper II).
For reserved category (SC/ST), the fee is Rs.300 (paper I or paper II), and Rs.500 (paper I and paper II).
Fees can be paid online using debit or credit card and offline via challan to be deposited with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.

Application process begins: 22nd June 2016.
Last date for online form submission: 18 July 2016.
Last date to submit fees through E-challan or card: 19.07.2016 (till 3:30 PM).
Online Corrections: 27.07.2016 to 25.07.2016
Exam date: 18 Sept 2016.
