CBSE, ICSE Announce Class 12 Result Evaluation Criteria
30:30:40 marking scheme to be used for three year performance
Supreme Court has on Thursday accepted the scheme formulated and proposed by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and CISCE (Indian School Certificate Examination) to evaluate students of Class 12.
The Class 12 result will be compiled on the basis of the three-year performance (Class 10, 11, and 12) of the student. The marking scheme will carry a 30:30:40 weights for marks obtained in classes 10, 11, and 12 respectively.
The detailed marking criteria presented by the board stated that the Class 10 component (30 percent) will be based on the best three performing subjects in the board exams. Class 11 final exam results will carry a 30 percent weight. Marks obtained in unit test/mid-term/pre-board in class 12 will carry (40 percent) weight.
Students who are not satisfied with the evaluation formula or not satisfied with their final result will get an opportunity to take up Class 12 examination when the pandemic situation becomes conducive, the Supreme Court ruling stated.
While CISCE will declare the final results of Class 12 by July 20, 2021, CBSE will declare the Class 12 results based on the accepted marking scheme before July 31, 2021.
