Quarrel between Kashmiri and UP-Bihari students after India’s loss against Pakistan in T20 World Cup
After a T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan, a skirmish broke out at an engineering institution in the Sangrur district of Punjab. It was between Kashmiri students and the students from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, police officials reported on Monday.
According to authorities, the incident occurred after some chants were raised following the match on Sunday night.
At Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering and Technology in Sangrur, several students from Kashmir and the rest from UP and Bihar were watching the match in their own rooms. After the match, in which Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets, the students had heated arguments.
Furthermore, a video has appeared on social media purporting to show a Kashmiri student accusing some Uttar Pradesh students of barging into their room.
Police stated they are looking into the situation.
