Farmers in Moga protest against Harsimrat Badal’s election meetings
On her approach to a meeting with party workers in Langeana village near Baghapurana town in Moga on Friday, former union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal was met by protests.
Following the Samyukt Kisan Morcha’s request last month for all political parties in Punjab to postpone their election campaigns, some farmers staged protests against Badal.
Their call came after numerous farmers were injured in a skirmish with Punjab Police in Moga district on September 2. During the rally of Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal, there was a clash.
Farmers gathered in her final destination to demonstrate against her. When the national government passed the contentious agriculture rules last year, several farmers accused her of doing nothing.
