Punjab: Shahi Imam dies at the age of 69, CM offers condolences

According to a state government statement issued here on Friday, Punjab Shahi Imam Hazrat Maulana Habib Ur Rehman Saani Ludhianvi died at a private hospital in Ludhiana after a brief illness. 

On Thursday night, the 63-year-old passed away. The Family members of Shahi Imam include his wife, two boys and a daughter.

Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh expressed his condolences on the death.

In Late Shahi Imam’s praise, Captain Singh said that he was a spiritual personality who always preached love, peace and harmony.

He remarked, “Shahi Imam’s great contribution in forging the bonds of brotherhood, amity, and bonhomie amongst people will always be remembered by one and all across the state.”

“In the religious brotherhood, particularly among the Muslim community, a hole has been created that is impossible to fill,” the chief minister added.
