Harmohan Sandhu, the leader of the SAD in Chamkaur Sahib, has resigned from the party
Harmohan Singh Sandhu, the former AIG (Personnel) who quit the government two years ago to join the SAD, resigned from the party’s primary membership on Monday.
Sandhu said he would submit his resignation to party president Sukhbir Singh Badal in a message posted on his Facebook page.
On 26 November 2018, Harmohan Singh resigned from the Police force. He had eight more years to serve in the police force but gave his resignation in order to join the SAD.
His father, former minister Ajaib Singh Sandhu, was an MLA twice, while his mother, former minister Satwant Kaur Sandhu was elected to the Assembly five times from Chamkaur Sahib.
Sandhu was rumoured to be the SAD’s Assembly candidate in the next elections. However, his political prospects were harmed when the BSP was given the Chamkaur Sahib Assembly seat. Sandhu’s supporters pressed him to take a call after that.
According to Sandhu, he had even talked with the BSP for his Chamkaur Sahib candidacy with the agreement of the SAD high leadership.
