Punjab: Man found smoking at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Arrested!

On Monday, a Ludhaina resident was arrested for reportedly smoking near Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.

Paramjeet Singh was caught by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Later, he was brought in front of the police.

The accused’s relatives notified the authorities that he had been receiving treatment for schizophrenia for the previous year. It’s an illness that affects a person’s capacity to think, feel, and behave clearly.

It has been reported that at around 4:30 in the morning Paramjit flicked his cigarette behind the ragis sitting in darbar sahib and blew the smoke towards them.

According to SSP Ropar Vivek Sheel Soni, who arrived on the scene, said the accused had been apprehended after a case was filed against him under Section 295-A of the IPC.

The investigation of this case would be overseen by a separate police team along with few members from the Takht Jathedar.
