Lakhimpur Kheri: UP Police detains Punjab MLAs along with AAP’s Raghav Chadha and Harpal Singh Cheema!

On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh police halted and arrested a delegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who were on their way to Lakhimpur Kheri to pay condolences to the families of the four farmers murdered in Sunday’s violence, according to the party.

MLAs Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Baljinder Kaur, and Amarjit Singh Sandoa were among the delegation, which was led by AAP Punjab affairs co-in-charge Raghav Chadha and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, according to a news release from the party.

While travelling from Lucknow to Lakhimpur Kheri, Sandhwan was stopped at a checkpoint at Atariya village, Sitapur district. The rest of the delegation was apprehended roughly 10 kilometres from the village at a checkpoint set up by the Nighasan police station, according to the news release.

Chadha and his party leaders were detained after an altercation with the police, according to the press release.
