Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) cancels its annual Dusshera Parade in the state of Punjab
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has chosen not to stage its annual full-uniform procession, Path Sanchalan, in Punjab this year due to farmer resistance.
RSS cadres in full uniform and wielding sticks demonstrate their might. They would also flaunt weapons on occasion. For decades, this practise has been going on.
The RSS’s state leadership is said to have urged local units to avoid parades and minor events areas that are closed, not just on Dussehra. An RSS leader from the Malwa region stated they had been warned verbally not to hold any huge events on Dasehra, despite the fact that they had not explicitly identified the threat from the farmers as the main reason.
Iqbal Singh, the chief of the RSS’ Punjab chapter, claimed that local units had been urged to make any decisions with their security in mind. He stated that Path Sanchalan was not more vital than societal peace and harmony.
