Are the Congress State leadership issues still brewing? It seems so! Amarinder Singh, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, has a few words to say about the present strategy proposed by Rahul Gandhi, the vice-president of the Congress party. He feels that Rahul Gandhis policy of getting the Congress up on its legs is not ideal in the situation. Amarinder Singh feels that the AAP is full of Khalistan extremists and the Leftist and something needs to be done about this right away.
Talking about the very important state Panjab, Amarinder Singh claims to be busy in a positive manner to set an example for the AAP and admits to holding 76 meetings, 23 rallies, lots of tea and lunch meets with workers, contrary to the dharnas seen at the Lok Sabha. He insists that Kejriwal needs to pay more attention to Punjab as it is a border state and people are threatened. He reminded the party about the gory incidents of the past and how nearly 35,000 people perished during the deadly terrorist times and fears that Naxalites are joining hands with the Khalistanis and are entering into AAP
and directly effecting Punjab.
Amarinder Singh was apprehensive that his party is being ignored and not taken seriously enough. Talking about Bajwa he says that Indira Gandhi should have shown him the door ages ago as the man is lacking ability. Continuing his tirade further he stated By now Rahul should now have decided that the man is incompetent and should be replaced. You’ve got a major challenge ahead of you in Punjab. In 15 months how can you change 14, 200 villages and so many cities? We have a 7 crore population. How will you change peoples thinking unless you go at it hammer and tongs? So I said it to myself, if these guys are not doing it, let me do it.
Insisting that Punjab was being ignored and not handled correctly, He brought home the fact that Rahul does not live in Punjab whereas his own generations have belonged to the area. Amarinder Singh has given a statement that People are hinting to him to flit away and start the political efforts in Punjab on his own if this is the way Congress is going to behave. Though he admits this is a real tough task and needs a lot of thought but this idea will be considered if need be.
Talking about Rahul Gandhis way of dealing with the situation he called Rahul young and stated India is a vast and diverse country and he will have to fall in line with the way India is. You can’t change India, you have to fall in. Bengal Assam Kerala each has its own problems. You can’t change India by making a new India in a different way, with modern management techniques. We still have people in the Adivasi belt living on berries and catching bats at night and eating squirrels. That’s human dignity at its lowest. Reality hasn’t yet sunk in for Rahul. Going somewhere and sitting and eating food in a Dalit house is not a solution, that’s just dramatics.
Well, it seems Rahul has lots to answer to Amarinder Singh, the joblessness, the drugs frustration, and the APP surges. As a parting shot the leader snapped Rahul will learn but as I said before, Mrs Sonia Gandhi should keep the presidency until the son is able to take over.
