Want your Windows 7, 8 gadgets promoted to Windows 10? You can, says Microsoft
Windows has made a mammoth decision once again. Terry Myerson, the executive vice president of Windows and Devices Group has made an announcement that, there is an up-gradation of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 devices in the offing. The devices working on the windows 7and 8 will get updated to Windows 10 in the next few months automatically.
The Vice president explained that this process of updating will take place in two steps. Firstly, the update of Microsoft will change to “Optional” and then it will shift to “Recommended” by early 2016. This will make sure that the users, who have automatic updates showing on their gadgets, will not need permission or get acceptance to get the Windows 10 downloaded. All this will take place automatically.
The firm confirms that they are working for the latest Windows software version and soon they will install Windows 10, for some of its users. In a blog post, the firm assures “Our aspiration is for customers to choose Windows, and to love Windows.” Windows 10 will be offered as an “Optional update”, says the firm.
But what happens if you are not able to adjust to the updating and long for your old Microsoft version is all hope lost? No, definitely not. The authorities affirmed, ‘Early next year, we expect to be re-categorizing Windows 10 as a “Recommended Update. Depending upon your Windows Update settings, this may cause the upgrade process to automatically initiate on your device. Before the upgrade changes the OS of your device, you will be clearly prompted to choose whether or not to continue.”
Myerson has thought of keeping the customers happy under all circumstances and he has explained that “after any upgrade, you can easily go back to your prior version of Windows within 31 days if you choose.” The windows 10 release has been taken well, and almost 110 million devices are working on the Windows 10 says Microsoft. Early next year the automatic download of Windows 10 will be put into practice and the devices will see updating. According to Microsoft, they have noticed an increase in an ‘unprecedented demand for Windows 10’.
