Maggi is back! Snapdeal Nestle India become partners
Finally rush to the supermarkets to get your favorite Maggi. It’s back, people! Reports confirm that Snap deal has entered into a partnership with Nestle India and Maggi has marched back on the departmental store shelves in many places.
The masala version of the popular brand of noodles Maggi has been rolled out by Nestle India in the market today, but there is a catch here. The 8 states where the noodles had been banned from sale will not be selling Maggi till further permissions are obtained.
Nestle India has entered into a partnership with Snap deal and in a company statement; it has been assured that there are in talks with the States where Maggi has been ban
ned. Most of the States have not banned Maggi Noodles but there are some States which are waiting for specific directions from the authorities before they give the nod for Maggi. Online offers are ready for pick up, just log on to Snapdeal and order. Maggi is being manufactured at 3 places Bicholim (Goa), Nanjangud in Karnataka, and in Moga (Punjab) at the moment.
Maggi is working hard to get directions for starting the manufacture of Maggi noodles in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The three
that had been asked by the High Court to check out new Maggi samples, have given the go ahead for sales, says Nestle India.
The FMCG major has clarified that “Nestle India has conducted 3500 tests representing over 200 million packs in both national and international accredited laboratories for testing and all reports are clear. Various countries including USA, UK, Singapore and Australia have found Maggi Noodles exported from India safe for consumption.”
It was a business shock for Nestle India when it’s most popular and selling brand of instant noodles Maggi had faced a sales ban. Reports confirm that Q3 net profit of Maggi fell down 60 percent “to Rs 124.2 crore from Rs 311.3 crore in corresponding quarter last fiscal.” The net sales had fallen down 32.1% showing figures of Rs 1736.2 crore (year-on-year) because of Maggi.
The company stated “in addition to loss of sales from the business disruption net sales worth Rs 15.32 crore have been reversed during the quarter in relation to Maggi Noodles stock being withdrawn from trade partners and market.”
