Plenty of Indians plan a holiday to the beautiful region of Malaysia. By shelling out an amount of Rs 2710 as visa fees, Indians, can get a visa for 3 months, in just about 24-48 hours and that too online. This is an effort made by the Malaysian Government as they recognize that a major chunk of their tourists hail from India.
The e-visa or Electronic Travel Authorization Visa is ideal for Indian outboard travel for a short period of time. The Malaysian authorities had stated that nearly 7,22,141 Indian tourists had applied for Malaysian visa last year and the number shows great promise for next year. At the moment the Government of Malaysia permits the e-visa facility for people residing in India and they permit a stay of maximum 30 days for tourism to Malaysia. The e-visa permission is for single journey only, say the reports.
Talking about the issue , Mohd Hafiz, director, Tourism Malaysia, Mumbai, gave a statement “We are always trying to make travel to Malaysia as convenient as it can get and the introduction of e-visa is a major step in that direction. We are confident that with this ease in visa process more and more Indians will now consider Malaysia as a destination of choice for their next holiday.”
Tourism Industry estimates show that Indians traveling abroad for tourism are showing a growth of almost 15-20% every year. Indians are marching on for more exciting global tourist destination each year and the number keeps on augmenting with time. This staggering increase puts India in the “high demand list” , for the countries who want to increase their tourism value.
