Ahead of 2022 Assembly Polls, 6 Well-Known Personalities Join BJP in Punjab
Trying to strengthen its position in Punjab, BJP join hands with 6 prominent social influencers in Punjab
Six famous personalities on Wednesday joined hands with the BJP and are all set to contest 2022 Punjab Assembly Polls under the saffron party banner.
Those who have joined the BJP clan include former president of All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) Harinder Singh Kahlon and former AISSF leader Kuldeep Singh Kahlon, advocate Jagmohan Singh Saini, president of Farmers’ Intellectual Front from Patiala, advocate Nirmal Singh from Mohali, former Vice-Chancellor of Guru Kashi University Jaswinder Singh Dhillon, and Col Jaibans Singh from Patiala.
The development came barely a day after Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nanda held talks with state leaders to strengthen their team eyeing the upcoming Punjab Assembly Polls.
The high-level BJP meet was held at party headquarters in Delhi. State unit president Ashwani Sharma, general secretary in-charge Dushyant Gautam and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat were present during the occasion.
Ashwani Sharma congratulated his new colleagues and said that when ‘persons and influencers of such stature join BJP’ Punjab is bound to head on the track of peace and development.
Mr. Shekhawat acknowledged the work and contributions of the fresh entrants he said their reputation and experience will help the party strengthen its position in Punjab and also help ‘dispel’ many misconceptions especially those related to the new farm bills.
