Visa processing for Australia to go digital only
Visa processing for Australia is soon going to be streamlined and it’s the digital services that are going to win the battle hands down! The visa labels for Australian visas are going to get digitized from next month and it’s being done to make the visa processing easy and proficient.
The provision of well-organized digital services by the Department is going to save loads of time and will also be a cost friendly affair. Besides postponement and hindrances at the last minute, acquiring the visa labels used to mean spending a lot of money which was a great annoyance for the stakeholders and applicants. No more paying for the Australian visa label. After the September 1st, the visa holders will be using the VEVO system to access their Visa records.
According to a DIBP spokesperson, the department is open to trying out new technologies and “Offering these services digitally is an efficient, economical and sustainable solution. The step is part of a department wide strategy to provide accessible and efficient digital services to clients in line with the Australian government’s digital agenda”. The visas are being issued and recorded with the help of electronic media already.
Talking about the technology that is being utilized, the spokesman stated that visa holders, stakeholders and registered organizations, all are going to be provided the visa information immediately. All this is done through the “myVEVO” mobile application and the “free Visa Entitlement Verification Online service”.
With the Australian visa, the applicant is also handed out a visa grant notification note explaining the details of entry requirements, visa validity, and other compulsory visa conditions.
The spokesperson insisted that the holders need to ‘retain this for your own reference and you may wish to carry it with you when you travel as it contains important information about your visa. The information contained within the visa grant notification letter will help you to check your visa status online using VEVO.”
The Visa holders will be handed out a unique identification number that will be connected to their electronic visa record. All they have to do is show the authorities their ImmiCard or passport to get into or stay on in Australia.
The details of the visa holder will be checked online henceforth. The department has requested the Visa holders to keep them well informed about passport details in case there has been a change, because this will enable them to update the information digitally, and the visa holder will face no delays, if an Australia visit is in the offing.
The Australian Immigration and Border protection portfolio have to be given detailed information of all the passengers who are travelling by airlines flying to Australia. To avoid unnecessary complications or delays at the airport, a TIETAC or an APP check can be requested from the authorities by the passengers taking connecting flights to the country. It’s a boon to get online connectivity for the visa details as one can check online for identity proofs, Medicare and other Government related services.
