She had no idea that she will be picked up outside the National College at Bandra Linking Road and brutally killed that day by strangulation by her own mother’s planning. The body was callously disposed-off by burning with petrol. All this was executed by none other than the 45 year old Indrani, wife of Peter Mukerjea, former CEO of Star India and assisting her in her gruesome task were Sanjeev Khanna, her former husband, and her driver Shyamvar Rai.
Sheena’s burnt body was discovered on the May 23rd, 2012 by Raigad police, and the surprising thing was that no “missing case” had been registered with the Police regarding Sheena’s disappearance three years ago. Sheena was Indrani’s daughter from her marriage to Siddharth Das.
Allegedly, reports say Indrani had spun a web of lies and she had told her husband Peter Mukherjea, former CEO of Star India, that Sheena was her sister. It was common for the lady to introduce her son and daughter as her brother and sister in society. After Sheena’s murder, Indrani had conveniently explained her absence to people by saying that her sister was pursuing higher studies in the United States so no one got suspicious of her vanishing act.
Reports have confirmed that Indrani was unhappy that Sheena was involved in a relationship with Rahul, Peter’s son from his former wife and was sparing no stone unturned to show her displeasure.
Shocked at the turn of events, but offering his full cooperation to the authorities, Peter has given his statement saying “I have never experienced anything like this before. The news I am getting, the kind of crime that has been committed, I would have never expected. Whatever help, information, police need, I am happy to help them with that. I would be absolutely clear and straight with them and cooperate. I don’t understand at all with regard to my wife… Sheena Bora is her sister, I believed all these years, and now I ..” said the stunned former CEO of Star India.
According to media, Rahul Mukherjea was sharing a flat with Sheena in the Western suburbs and this was unbearable to Indrani. Sheena had faced her mother’s wrath in the past because of this closeness. Rahul has been questioned at the Khar Police Station for the second time on Thursday and his visit left the media in an inquisitive tizzy.
Mikhail, Indrani’s son has stated that he is waiting for his mother to confess her sins and has confirmed that he has “no doubt my mother Indrani killed my sister Sheena Bora.” He stated that he had no idea that his sister was missing because he was under the impression that she was studying in US. A financially pained Mikhail has stated that his mother had asked them to keep their “mother-son-daughter” status hidden from public because of her high profile status and had threatened to stop sending them money if they disclosed anything.
He also stated that Indrani had said that Sheena was happy in US and had wanted nothing to do with him after she had left for her higher studies. Shocked and stunned Mikhail commented “There was no contact till 2015. Till yesterday, I did not have any clue… where she was. There was no contact. Till last September, she, Indrani Mukerjea, came here.
