Google in trouble, partiality with apps leads to investigations

Google lands in trouble! Well, that is what happens when you go partial with your own apps and this action has put Google under the investigation banner.

Googles android operating system had raised anti-trust issues, confirm reports. The giant company had restructured Alphabet but the regulators were not convinced by the action and they continued their anti-trust investigations into the company. Google has been blamed for focusing main attention on its personal applications like Google search and Gmail, rather than other rival shopping sites, state reports from undisclosed sources.

When Apple had launched the iPhone in 2008, people were excited. Their excitement increased when at the same time Google came out with the Android operating system. Android struck a mark in US starting gaining momentum as the leading Smartphone OS worldwide. Google was in action and needed to take over small screens the same way as it was irreplaceable to the desktop. This endeavor became Googles priority and the Android operating system seemed to be the way to make a mark. Thus started the rebranding and corporate restricting efforts, but this step wasnt the right way for Google to start its expansion.

Reports from Reuters are saying that investigations are on the rise by the Federal Trade Commission specifically, and they are speculating “whether Google is telling Android handset makers which Google apps they must show on their phones, and how and where they are displayed. Its the initial stage of the investigation and a formal case at the moment is not anticipated say reports, but Google stays silent on the issue and an FTC spokesperson, Peter Kaplan also gave no comment when questioned on the issue.

A law professor working at New York University, Harry First, has stated that the present regulatory issues that Google is facing are just “a minor to moderate pain in the ass” and he further said “Defending anti-trust cases does take attention of top level management and it does cost money… They could be the subject of inquiry here, or in China, in Korea, in Japan. Google is all over the world and so is antitrust.”

Googles powerful operating system is usable by other gadget manufacturers easily and Google has also designed hardware gadgets that promote searches, entertainment, and email all by itself. It is not dependent on Microsoft, Apple or Blackberry for accessing these services. Google has been accused in of preferring its own searches but the probe was given up in 2013.

AntiTrustGoogleIs Google being unjust with searches regarding other shopping sites on the Web? Does Google insist that phone companies and device makers show fondness for its own applications with Android? Wonder what will happen to Google after the announcement of the regulatory investigation!
