Prime Minister cheered at SAP Centre, India face of 21st century
The venue was SAP centre in San Jose, and the collected congregation was Indian people belonging to Silicon Valley, the voice that addressed the crowds and rung out in a boom was that of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was greeted with loud cries of his name as he walked up to the dias.
The Indian Prime Minister was extremely inquisitive and wanted his actions assessed by the public. He wanted to know, if after 16 months of holding office he has fulfilled the promises he made to the public.”After 16 months, today I want your certificate. Am I working? Am I working for nation? Am I fulfilling promises?,” asked the regal looking Prime Minister to about 18,500 people collected at the event. His question asking about the performance of his governance was greeted by an exuberant “Yes” and Chak De India cheers.
Modi was given a grand reception organized by the Indo-Americans residing in California, and people were enthralled at the venue by dance troupe of Mona Khan, Nrityodaya Kathak Academy, Kailash Kher and his band and he was welcomed exuberantly by Ashvini Bhave and Rajiv Satyal.
At the event , the PM mentioned that he had visited Silicon valley after a period of 25 years and reminded the people about Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary in reverence . He emphasized that the people were now adapting to the change in the world and India has changed its image because of hard work, innovative and committed thoughts. Praising the computer which has led to this massive development worldwide, he asked everyone to move with the times, saying “I see it as Brain Deposit, out to look for opportunities. When that comes this brain will gv back to India with interests. Brain drain can become brain gain, did anyone ever think about this. That’s why I have a different outlook towards this.” stated the voluble and charismatic man.
Praising the Indians for their hard work and grit, the Prime Minister stated that the world firmly recognizes the 21st Century to be India’s Century and claimed that the present change in India was not because of “Modi Modi” rather it was because of the 125 crore Indians. He said that he had promised to put in all efforts in working for the nation and now he wants a certificate that he has not let the people down. PM Modi, reminded them that “We are moving ahead with ‘JAM of all’; ‘J’ stands for Jandhan account, ‘A’ stands for ‘Adhaar card’ & ‘M’ stands for ‘Mobile governance’. Once I requested people of nation to give up their LPG subsidy for poor,I feel proud in saying 30 lakh people surrendered their subsidy”.
The Prime Minister of India stunned the audiences when he said that the UN needs to tackle adequately with terrorism and stated that the Body needs to clarify its position and specify who stands by them. He also stated that on its 70th anniversary, the ambiguity needs to go, and the United Nations needs to explain “terrorism” and admit who stands by humanity. He was clear with his words when he stated in hindi , “’Good terrorism’ ya ‘Bad terrorism’ se hum maanavata ki raksha nhi kar sakte, Terrorism, terrorism hota hai.”
As a parting shot , Prime Minister Modi thrilled the audiences when he announced “From 2 December there will be direct flights from Delhi to San Francisco by Air India. Thrice a week…Thank you”.
