E-Retailers Roll Out Deal Extravaganza

The festival season is round the corner. The Indian consumer is excited and looking forward to the fun, frolic and shopping that accompanies the upcoming festivals. E-retailer Snapdeal has provided another reason to cheer by starting its Diwali sale with ‘Electronics Monday’ on October 12, 2015.

A jaw-dropping discount of up to 70 percent off on numerous items including electronics, clothes and footwear is up for grabs. The deal extravaganza only gets bigger as consumers can make purchases from credit cards of select banks like HDFC and get attractive cash backs.

The icing on the cake is that other e-retailers are to follow suit. The likes of Amazon and  Paytm reportedly have their plans in place to cash in on the lucrative season.

Flipkart, the poster boy of Indian e-commerce industry is scheduled to start its five-day ‘Big Billion Days’ sale from Tuesday, October 13-17.

The target is extremely ambitious. Flipkart aims to garner Rs 3,000 crore during these five days as it coxes the consumers to go in for a shopping spree.

Amazon too has announced its pre-Diwali festival sale from October 13-17. The sale will be available only on the mobile app on the last two days.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the e-retailers earn a commission of 10 to 15 percent on overall sales. Experts feel that products will sell like hot cakes and stocks will be out in no time.
