IT professionals watch out! Outsourcing fee of H1-B and L-1 visas increased
The outsourcing fee for IT professionals who are highly qualified has been increased by the United States Congress to about $ 4000. This change has been introduced after the 30th of September this year and the earlier fees that was just about $ 2000 has now jumped up tp about $ 4000. The US Congress has announced a fee of about $4500 on the L-1 and $ 4000 on the H1-B visas.
In a spending bill that was announced by the Congress on Wednesday, it was stated that the fees increase is “for applicants that employ 50 or more employees in the United States if more than 50 percent of the applicant’s employees are non immigrants”.
The leaders of the Congress have given the nod for the spending bill of $ 1.1 trillion and have also announced about $ 4500 on L-1 visas and about $ 4000 special fees on some selected categories of the H-1 B permits. A vote is expected to be slated tomorrow on the spending bill of $1.1 trillion by the US House of Representatives. This move will get about an annual amount of more than a billion dollars state reports and this will be utilized in funding the “biometric entry and exit tracking system,” health screenings and treatment protocols, for the first responders of 9/11.
The bill demanding the $4500 and $ 4000 fees is for the organizations that employ about 50 employees and out of which about 50 percent of the workers are on L-1 visa or H1-B visa. Earlier the fee amount was mentioned was for about 5 years and the period lapsed on the September 30th , but now the increase is speculated for a period of about 10 years state the Lawmakers.
The Indian IT companies often outsource IT professionals in order to fund a “healthcare act and biometric tracking system” related to 9/11. Reports had earlier confirmed that the special provisions mentioned in the spending bill had no declaration regarding the Indian IT companies, but the bill language hints that this new change will have a huge impact on the IT organizations.
