Delhi Faizabad express, derails! 70 injured in accident
The Delhi-Faizabad express is said to have derailed near the Garhmukteshwar and almost 70 people are reported to have been injured in the accident.
Nearly 29 trains have had to divert their routes and almost 8 trains have been cancelled due to the derailing of 8 coaches of the Delhi-Faizabad express near Garhmukhteshwar. According to Anil Saxena, the Railway PRO “Our focus is on relief. Teams from Hapur and Moradabad have been sent. Traffic on both up and down line on Delhi-Moradabad section is affected,” he stated. No casualties have been reported in the incident so, far said the authorities.
The matter is already being looked into and AK Puthia, general manager of Northern Railway along with other senior officials have already reached the spot, said the PRO.
The Delhi-Faizabad Express derailing incident took place on Sunday night around
Garhmukhteshwar that lies in close proximity to Hapur region in Uttar Pardesh, and nearly 70 people are reported to have been injured Sunday night due to this misfortune. The official reports by Neeraj Sharma, Northern Railway spokesperson have confirmed that “Seven coaches including four AC coaches, two sleeper coaches were derailed at 9.05 pm. No death has been reported so far but some passengers have suffered injuries.”
Mr. Sharma has also confirmed that a medical van and a relief train to help the passengers have already been rushed to the site of the accident. “Several accident relief trains were also dispatched to the site from Delhi and Moradabad”, said the statement. Provision of extra beds in the Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial medical college and the PL Sharma district hospital has already been arranged for the injured and to deal with other emergencies.
