No technical problems! Why did the EgyptAir jet crash?
Last Thursday, Egypt Air Flight MS804 carrying 66 passengers from Paris to Cairo crashed, and all the people aboard died. Investigations were on full force and the sources have claimed that the airplane did not show any technical problems before take-off. Another explanation that has been deduced on the basis of human remains from the crash site say that there must have been a blast on board the flight and this led to the aircraft being brought down in the east Mediterranean.
A senior official from the Egyptian forensics has claimed that the only logical explanation for the aircraft crash is that there was a fiery outburst on board that must have brought it down. Official reports are stating “Human remains retrieved from the crash site of EgyptAir Flight MS804 suggest there was an explosion on board that may have brought down the aircraft in the east Mediterranean.”
According to different sources ‘the airplane did not show any technical problems before taking off’. They also said “the EgyptAir plane disappeared without swerving off radar screens after less than a minute of it entering Egyptian airspace”. The senior official involved in the investigation personally examined the ruins at one of the mosques at Cairo and has claimed that nearly 80 pieces have been brought to Cairo and they are very small in size and this may be because of a blast.
After examining the left part of a head, the official has claimed “There isn’t even a whole body part, like an arm or a head. But I cannot say what caused the blast.” The authorities have not committed to any evidence of explosives on the remains of the humans that have been unearthed.
This is a surprising admission to make as the black boxes of the plane have not yet been recovered and the photographs that the Egyptian military had published over the weekend did not show any signs of fire, and the retrieved debris showed was not charred. The authorities are further stating that it may be terrorism that has lead to the crash rather than a failure of equipment or some other misfortune. Some experts connected with aviation have also claimed that the there may have been a struggle or bomb blast in the cockpit.
Sources within Egyptian committee that is carrying out the investigation gave a statement late on Tuesday night, stated that the “ EgyptAir jet that disappeared last week did not show technical problems before taking off from Paris.” The plane did not contact the Egyptian Air traffic control but the controllers at the base had been able to locate it on the radar at Kumbi, a border area situated between Greek and Egyptian airspace, which is about 260 nautical miles from Cairo.
There are a variety of accounts regarding the final moments of the plane but some sources have said that the plane was definitely on the
and the moment it entered the Egyptian space it swerved off the radar screens. The Technical Log of the aircraft has been scanned and revealed. It was signed by the pilot and it said that the plane had no technical problems when it took off.
The technical log has confirmed that there were about “11 electronic messages’ transmitted from the EgyptAir flight, the first one noted at 2109 GMT on May 18. This is nearly 3 1/2 hours before the aircraft disappeared with the 66 passengers and crew. The first two messages of the log state that the engines were functional. The subsequent message at 0026 GMT on May 19 claimed an increase in “the temperature of the co-pilot’s window,” was noted. For about three minutes after that, the plane transmitted messages, but then it vanished. This was reported by Al-Ahram!
