We can count another feather in Gurgaon’s cap, and the city has now permitted Microsoft to launch its Cyber Security Center or CSEC here. This has been set up with an aim to establish private-public partnerships and join in the battle against cyber crime.
One of the 7 centers of Microsoft worldwide, the CSEC, in Gurgaon will definitely prove to be an organized and dedicated base for Microsoft in India. This center
also aims to improve cyber security cooperation between Government, academic organizations and Indian businesses. The center has security response experts, attorneys and investigators selected from all over India and these make the Digital Crime Unit of Microsoft, a complete and perfect unit to detect cyber crime.
The Chairman of Microsoft India, Bhaskar Pramanik , has claimed “India stands at an exciting threshold today as data becomes a key driver of growth across every sector and industry and cloud based computing become more prevalent. Cyber security is crucial for Digital India. A data driven economy can flourish only when governments, businesses and individuals have access to hyper scale and hyper flexible cloud computing with the confidence that their data is secure.”
The Microsoft Consultancy Services or MCS, will also function here via a devoted and committed response team that will be dealing effectively with cyber threats by ensuring “rapid response and resolution” , cyber monitoring and impart learning based detection technology, that promises to help people spread out across the whole country.
Reports have also stated that “CSEC will leverage Microsoft’s DCU Cyber Threat Intelligence Program that monitors and analyzes malware infections, provide malware threat assessment and provide actionable information and intelligence for select IP infrastructures shared by its customers on a noncommercial basis”.
You can now be assured of a safe digital India as the CSEC from Microsoft will be working hand in hand with CERT and National Cybersecurity Coordinator which will be dealing with digital risk and malware.
