Touch sensitive home button for iPhone 7? Maybe!

iphone-7-concept_2_736x460This September, iPhone 7 may give a surprise to the Apple lovers. There may be no physical home button, say the reports. The display leak has revealed that the home button on the iPhone is in for a revamp and may have a touch sensitive alternative this time.

Till now the iPhone users have been very comfortable with the physically evident home button. The button helps the user carry out various functions and is actually what makes the iPhone user-friendly. Is there a new button in the offing or is Apple planning some touch sensitive area, as the home button?

If the phone is in landscape mode then there are no chances of the home button being pressed accidentally. With every new iPhone release, Apple made sure that the home button turned out more reliable. But there is a hitch here! If your iPhone is out of its warranty period and your home button shows signs of malfunctioning, repairs may be a real strain on your budget.

The physical button seems to have outlived itself, and now it’s time to replace it with a touch sensitive one, on the iPhone’s cover glass. The Apple display leak is hinting at this major change in the new iPhone to be released this September. You may now experience more water resistant phones as the capacitive buttons react better in these conditions.

According to Mobipicker’s sources, “the new home button will continue to offer various functions, including tap and hold for Siri, and a double-tap for multitasking”. “A touch ID sensor for fingerprint scans too”, reveal reports.
