Voilent outbursts in Kashmir! Militant Burhan Wani dead
The Kashmir Valley lies paralyzed and silent as it stands shrouded in violence and terror. Three days ago, Burhan Wani, the Hizbul militant died in an encounter with the security forces. His death triggered off terribly violent clashes, and nearly 22 people have died and about 250 people have been injured since Friday. Is Kashmir boiling because of the death of Burhan Wani?
Officials confirmed on Monday, “At least 22 people have died in clashes between protesters and security forces in Kashmir in three days after Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani was killed by security forces in an encounter on Friday”. This led to the death of about 22 people and nearly 250 were injured in the violent clashes. Reports confirm that 21 year old Burhan Wani was social media savvy and he was indulging in terrorist activities through these mediums. He along with two other militants died on Friday in
, when they were cornered by the security personnel.
Burhan Wani had immense convincing power and he had used social media videos and posts that influenced many Kashmiri youth to take up a militant way of life, since the last few years. Violent protests shrouded the valley after Wani’s death and the area stood shaken by the aggression.
The situation was worsened by some people who used social media to spread wrong information regarding the incident on FaceBook, but the Police have started investigations against these people. The Amarnath Yatra has been suspended and the pilgrims are being stopped at Jammu in view of the violent situation.
Kashmir is seeing movement restrictions so that the security forces can prevent further incidents and damage. The separatist groups have called a strike that has paralyzed Kashmir. Petrol pumps, private offices all are closed and Government establishments saw a weak footfall of employees. Public transport was halted and private vehicles were sparsely seen in areas that were free of restriction.
