Airtel generosity! Free Wi-Fi service for certain Gurgaon areas

Certain locations in Gurgaon have been selected by Airtel for offering public free Wi-Fi service. Airtel has recently decided to launch this free service in restricted areas of Gurgaon.

After the first 30 minutes, the free Wi-Fi service will become chargeable and when the user is in the zone of the Wi-Fi, they need to establish a connection to the “MSG powered by Airtel”. The non-Airtel users can also avail this facility but they need to purchase vouchers for use, and the Airtel users will be able to access it with the help of the data packs.

The public Wi-Fi hotspots have been launched on Sunday by Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana’s Chief Minister. Now Gurgaon users can utilize wireless Internet connectivity and Wi-Fi free sessions in these locations- Sadar bazaar, Sarhaul village, MG Road and Sector-29 market.

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon had lost the Wi-Fi launch mandate to Airtel. Airtel has confirmed, “The free Wi-Fi service is open to all users with compatible devices. When in proximity to the Wi-Fi, the user has to just enable Wi-Fi in device settings and search for ‘wi-fi-on-phone-stock-image. One can continue to use the Wi-Fi services post 30 minutes also, however they will be charged a nominal amount.”

Airtel wrote in an email statement and added “While Airtel users will be charged on their data plan/packs, non-Airtel users will be able to buy online vouchers with affordable deals. Airtel customers can connect to the Wi-Fi using the Airtel Hangout app also.”
