Earthquake tremors! Amritsar and India-Pak border shakes
On Sunday evening at about 5.24 P.M, an earthquake shook the India-Pakistan border area and mild tremors were felt in Amritsar, Punjab. The earthquake was measured as 4.6 on the Richter scale.
Tremors shook Amritsar, when an earthquake of 4.6 intensity, stuck Punjab near the Indo-Pak border, on Sunday evening at about 5.24 P.M at a depth of nearly 15 km. This was confirmed by the India Meteorological Department.
Reports also confirm that an earthquake of 4.4 struck around Lahore at Pakistan. The earthquake tremors were also experienced across areas of Ferozepur and Fazilka in Punjab. Tremors of the seismic activity were felt in Sheikhupura, Lahore, and other regions in Pakistan, as well.
The earthquake in Punjab area happened a few hours after mild tremors shook Surat region in Gujarat, at about 9.24 A.M, on Sunday morning. An earthquake that was recorded 4.7 on the Richter scale with an epicenter about 24 km, from Surat. No casualties or loss of property have been reported. An official has stated “The earthquake had its epicenter at Bhada village under Kamrej taluka of Surat district”.

, Gandhinagar gave a statement “An aftershock of 2.8 magnitude was also felt at 11.23 am with its epicenter at some 25 km south-south east of Bhavnagar city in Saurashtra.”
