There is a war on! The communication giants are neck to neck in competition and there is an aggressive slashing of “data” related rates on. Now, to match up to Airtel offers Idea has reduced rates in selective cases by “up to” 67%.The telecom companies feel slashing data rates will definitely grab them more customers.
According to reports handed over by Hindustan Times, “Airtel stock slipped by 4% to close at Rs 363.45 on BSE, while Idea shares declined 6.5% to close at Rs 103.90. Reliance Industries’ fell 0.82% to close at Rs 1,004.25 as investors worried about the impact of a tariff war on bottomlines.”
Bharti Airtel had announced loads of data tariff discounts for customers yesterday starting a data war with the telecom companies. In reaction to these attractive Airtel offers, Idea Cellular 
announced that they will keep the fees same, but the data tariffs will be reduced by up to 67%. Now the customers can get lured by more data in the same amount of money. Idea rendered a statement regarding this on Monday stating “Idea Cellular has now slashed the rates of its 4G, 3G BIG Internet packs by up to 67%, providing more value to heavy Internet users who consume data packs of 2GB to 1 GB.”
Even Reliance’s Jio is all set to offer 4-G voice services and high speed data packages early next month. Jio by Reliance Network is already dealing with a small number of users in this trial experiment, and is aggressively testing its network capability and integrating its spectrum to please its customers. For users who had a data consumption of just below 1 GB, Idea had reduced price by 45%, last week, leaving the light “data” users smiling.
