More armed troops and sophisticated weapons have been deployed by India all along the India-China border. Reports are stating that the encounters between the Chinese and Indian army have increased and the country is already preparing for a “Face-Off”.

Running your eye around the border area you will be able to see armed people of India and China in many, sitting with guns in bunkers. Reports are confirming that the Indian military is extra vigilant and collecting all along the Line of Actual Control that is nearly 826 kilometer long. The military personnel are ramping up and have been pre-positioned right from the Karkoram Pass, in the Northern region, and all along the border.
The South Eastern Ladakh borders are guarded by the 19 Kumaon and talking about the recent increase in border activity, Colonel Ritesh Singh has stated “My posts start from 15,000 feet, and our patrols go up to 20,000 feet.” NDTV has confirmed increased activity and stated that the face-offs and encounters have increased with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The exact position of the new-formations is kept under wraps and will not be revealed. War gaming has hinted that in case of a hostile situation China has nearly 60,000 to 80,000 armed men ready.
The Indian infantry battalions that were posted at Eastern Ladakh earlier stayed there for about 6 months. Now the personnel are advised to spend more time to understand the peculiarities and terrain of the area better, and they stay on for longer tenures that are lasting nearly two years. After about two years they proceed to the Saichen glacier. According to a senior official this ensures that “defensive and offensive plans are effective.”
Commander of the Leh-based 14 Corps, Lt Gen SK Patyal gave an explanation saying, “We have to defend our international borders, whatever it takes in terms of infrastructure and accretion, and we are doing it in the best possible manner”.
