Delhi smiles! Petrol prices fall again
The Delhiites have a reason to smile again. Once again the petrol and diesel prices are being slashed. Petrol will now be available in Delhi at about Rs 60.09 per litre and one litre diesel can be obtained at about Rs 50.27.
The prices of petrol and diesel have seen a slashing for the fourth time since July this year. The price of petrol has once again been cut down by one rupee and diesel prices have been reduced by Rs 2 per litre, this Monday, August 15th, the 70th Independence Day.
Before midnight Monday the cost of petrol in Delhi was Rs 61.09 a litre, and Indian Oil Corp announced that its price has been cut down by a rupee and it will now be available at Rs 60.09. The IOC also confirmed that price of diesel will now be Rs 50.27 per litre where as diesel was earlier costing Rs 52.27 per litre.
The Indian Oil corporation has given a statement that, “The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant a decrease in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision.”
The IOC also confirmed that a close eye was being kept on the international oil markets and the exchange rate of the dollar rupee. The oil prices will fluctuate if there is a price movement noticed with the developing trends in the oil markets in future. The IOC added “developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes.”
