Robbers looted 3kg of gold and Rs.8 lakh cash from a Kiratpur Sahib Jeweller

On Sunday night, a group of 4 robbers looted a Jewellery shop owned by Rajinder Soni at Kiratpur Sahib. They robbed around 3kgs of gold and Rs. 8 lakhs worth of cash from the shop.

While explaining the whole incident, Rajinder said that his son Ankit, was hurt by those men during the attack.

According to Rajinder, he owns and operates a Jewellery shop at Kiratpur Sahib market . He along with his family lives at the back of the shop.

He explains that when he wasn’t at home, four men with their faces hidden forcefully entered their residence and tried to tie the hands of the family members. His family members include his son Ankit, his wife Nancy and their two daughters aged four and seven respectively. The burglars confined Nancy and the girls in a room and took Ankit to the jewellery box after this, he added.

Before stealing the jewellery and cash, the men attacked Soni with a sharp-edged instrument, gravely hurting him in the head and thigh, according to DSP Raminder Singh Kahlon. Soni also shot his revolver at the men, but three of them managed to flee, while one was found lying unconscious on the ground and later declared dead at the local hospital, according to Kahlon.

The dead was identified as a Himachal Pradesh native, and police teams were dispatched to track down the other suspects, according to the DSP.
