Pakistani air force base faces suicidal unit attack, six militants dead

Peshawar was shaken into action when 6 militants surged assault on the guard post of a Pakistani air force base. Nearly 10 Taliban gunmen stormed into the Badaber air base and opened fire on the military camp as they tried to make way in.

Remember the attack on the 150 innocent students and teachers in the army run school in the city in Last Decempakiber? The Taliban gunmen had ruthlessly broken fire and killed the kids. Once again, Peshawar which is a common target for terrorists, has reported aggression at a Pakistans Badaber air force. News reports state, that the armed gunmen started to shower bullets on the security guards as they tried to get into the facility. The officials exclaimed “All the terrorists were wearing explosives-laden jackets and were armed with hand-propelled grenades, mortars, AK-47 rifles.

This attack was confirmed by Major General Asim Bajwa, who stated that immediately after the violence, the area was surrounded by security men who started their search for the rest of the absconding gunmen. The rapid response force had responded instantaneously and had limited the attackers around a guard room, killing 6 terrorists. People living near the camp have admitted that they had heard gunfire and explosions of bombs for hours after attack.

Gen Bajwa gave his statement saying Eight attackers had been killed so far, he said, and 10 soldiers wounded. Clearance ops still underway. Searching for hidden terrorists. Gen Bajwa , claimed that a major was amongst the injured soldiers .

The reporters were sent an email by the Pakistani Taliban spokesman Muhammad Khurasani who admitted to the aggression and took responsibility for the attack saying that it was their suicidal unit members who had attacked the base. He declared in the letter- “We proudly claim responsibility for the attack on Pakistani air base. This base is being used by fighter jets for bombing us.

Talking about the after math, Bilal Ahmed, the rescue official has assured that the injured personnel nearly 20 of them were carried away in the ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
