The last quarter went and Samsung is said to have slid down to make space for the iPhone, but now things have changed. Today,in this month of April, Samsung reins number one and has surged ahead in the United States Smartphone market after leaving the iPhone behind, states a new research study.

Hong Kong-based Counterpoint Research has submitted a new report, witnessed by Business Korea where Samsung can take the credit for at least 28.8% of sales in the US Smartphone market for the month of March. Apple sales at 23% show that it has slipped down to second place and following close on its heels is LG with 17.1%, ZTE with 6.6%, Alcatel with 4.5%, Huawei with 1% of Smartphone market. Alcatel is an ancillary of TCL, the Chinese manufacturers.

Apple may have managed significant sales but the earnings are not at par with the sales. The recently launches iPhone SE has not ruffled many waters and the iPhone 6S has not received that exuberant a response as the iPhone S. The company may have done better than its competitors, Samsung included, but the top slot of sales this month have been taken over by Samsung which has managed credible sales of its Smartphone.

Each quarter we stare at the covers of the tech magazines to see which Smartphone has won the sales battle and this year both Apple and Samsung are working hard for the release of their new handsets. Apple is gearing up for the iPhone 7 this September and Samsung is all ready for its Galaxy Note 6. The battle continues and each conglomerate struggles to grab the first slot, let’s see which Smartphone company grabs the position in the next quarter.
