1800 dengue patients, full force Fumigation to kill mosquitoes in Delhi
No more breeding says the Government! The fumigation of residential areas to eradicate mosquitoes has finally started in Delhi, to stamp down the dengue outbreak. Nine people have already succumbed to death in the Capital, due to the dreaded mosquito bite.
On Monday night, the 9th case of dengue death was reported. A 43-year-old man died at Lal Bhadur Shastri Hospital because of internal bleeding and a very low platelet count. A senior doctor reports his platelets count were less than 20,000. He was immediately shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our doctors made efforts to resuscitate the patient but he passed away on September 12th morning. He had private report of dengue positive.
Till September 12th, about 1,800 dengue cases have been reported in Delhi according to Official data and the Government has been making attempts to contain the dreaded disease outbreak.
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister on Monday spoke to MLAs or the chairpersons of rogi kalyan samitis in an emergency meeting and told them to reassure patients by visiting hospitals twice daily and control the rising panic caused by dengue.
The Chief Minister insisted When you visit hospitals, talk to the patients. See that there is no panic. Ensure that there is enough stock of m
edicines, the hospital is clean and no one is turned away. See that there are ample testing kits available. In case of any shortage, please tell us.
A helpline number, 23307145, has also been launched by Satyendra Jain, the Health minister, who insisted that the panic of dengue needs to be kept tapered. The MCD workers have been directed to carry out house visits to see that there are no stagnant water deposits and to treat them accordingly.
It seems that the people were complaining that the Government has not been paying adequate attention to fumigation and the Commissioners have been instructed to do the needful right away.
