Going by the incredible customer response, Apple’s next generation devices, the iPhone 6s and 6s Pluses are guaranteed hot sellers! Demand for the latest iPhones that were unveiled earlier this month in San Francisco is very strong.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Pluses that were officially up for grabs beginning Friday in a dozen countries including the US, the UK, China, Australia, Japan, Singapore and France are selling like hot cakes. The Cupertino, California based behemoth stated that it had sold more than 13 million units of their latest handsets in the first weekend.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, stated, “Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history. Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9.”
India Launch on Oct. 16
A geographic ramp of 40 more countries is slated for on Oct. 9 and Apple intends to extend its reach to 130 more territories by the end of the year. The new iPhones will be coming to India on October 16.
“iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in India, Malaysia and Turkey on Friday, October 16 and in over 130 countries by the end of the year,” Apple said in a press statement.
Speedier Processor Better Camera
The latest smartphones feature a design quite similar to last year’s device, but with some modifications. It comes with a speedier processor, an upgraded 12 megapixels rear snapper capable of 4K video recording and the addition of a flash for the front-facing camera. The distinctive feature in the new handsets is Apple’s new 3D Touch display technology powered by its new A9 chip.
iPhone 6S will sell at $199 for the 16GB version, $299 for 64GB and $399 for the 128GB respectively for a 2 year contract. $199 for the 16GB version, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for off-contract. The iPhone 6S Plus, on the other hand, is priced at $299 for the 16GB variant, $399 for 64GB variant, and $499 for the 128GB variant. The base model of the iPhone 6s is expected to carry a price tag of over Rs 55,000.
