Just pay $35 each and soon you will be able to take home the newly introduced Chromecast for TV and audio-oriented Chromecast Audio, introduced by Google. These were revealed today in San Francisco with fanfare at the Nexus launch event and both these gadgets can be purchased at a reasonable price of Rs 2400 or $ 35.The price is almost same as that of original 2013 Chromecast. The latest Google surprises will be made available in about 17 countries.
Chromecast for TV
The recently introduced Chromecast is a vast improvement on the old one, with better connectivity, support for the 5GHz band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and a much improved antenna system. Gone is the stick like design, it’s time to welcome, the new circular redesigned device with the bendable and moldable HDMI integrated cable.
The new gadget casts content, mirroring it to the television with the help of the Chromecast mobile app. Added support with the help of many apps make the new Chromecast , sheer value for money, and prove it a much superior version than the its counterpart of 2013. The present version has three antennas that permit optimal screening as compared to the single antenna in the original.
The Chromecast also has the Google Photos Chromecast support that provides you the choice to select the pictures that you want to play on your TV. Check out the photos on your phone and cast the ones you like on TV. Don’t worry, your browsing activity will not show up on the television assures Google! Google expects new app partnerships with Sling TV, NHL, Showtime, NBA and others.
The Chromecast app has also been revamped and the “Fast play’ feature needs a special mention here. The app responds promptly and pre-fetches video content, that it feels you may hit play for and might like to watch. The ‘Fast Play’ feature seems to be able to access history of Chromecast use and can load videos extremely fast without activating the feature. The device also has ‘What’s on’ feature that highlights top content from the apps installed on the phone. Just breeze through the Chromecast dashboard on your phone independently, as the television displays the video casted by you.
Google also revealed the round disc shaped Chromecast audio with the 3.5 mm audio connector. No HDMI port for this new Chromecast, though optical inputs and RCA support are offered with the device. Play back the audio content stocked up in the phone on Bluetooth speakers or speaker sets, with the Chromecast audio that supports perfect audio streaming with syncing of multi room speakers.
This will be introduced later in the year and you will have to get different Chromecast audios for different speakers. The Chromecast audio is supported by NPR, iHeartRadio, Spotify and Pandora and other audio casting apps to make life easier. Just plug into an external power source and play back the content.
