The action that continued till evening left nearly 10 COBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action)jawans dead and about five of the commandos were injured in the action. It was the lack of proper medical aid that led to the martyrdom of the security men who had been injured in action.

Three Maoists were also shot down in the Sondaha incident and arms and ammunition have also been found at the site, showing that the attackers were well prepared for this action. At the moment the CRPF is supervising a search operation for more Naxals hiding in the area. The injured personnel have been taken to Gaya for proper medical treatment.

Officials have stated that “the casualties may rise as some of the jawans of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) were critically injured in a fierce gun battle”.
