Historical moment ! Hillary Clinton, First woman nominee for US President
For the first time in the history of United States of America, on Tuesday at 6.56 P.M, a woman was nominated for Presidential elections. Already recognized as Former secretary of State, impressive lady Hillary Clinton now turns around history, by securing the nomination for the famous Democratic Party, this 2016. Maybe the continuing tensions and unrest amongst the skeptical voters will now be put to rest!
The announcement was made through a roll call of States made at the Democratic National Convention, by Sen. Bernie Sanders, who claimed the nomination by acclamation. “I move that Hillary Clinton be selected as the nominee of the Democratic Party for president of the United States,” he stated. The moment this was said the whole House burst into ayes, thrilled applause, and cheers. Soon after Clinton, the “nominee”, tweeted her campaign motto through a video stating “stronger together”.
Clinton got about the necessary 2383 votes for nomination, though there were many others who did not accept her “nominee” stature gracefully. Many members of Sanders party called out “walkout, walkout, walkout” and calling out this, they marched out of the hall showing their displeasure. The unity of the Democratic Party surely lies questioned and Clinton has some tough tasks up her sleeve, she has a strong Republican nominee to face during the elections- Donald Trump and her own party to consider.
Sanders won the game from Clinton in places like Alaska, Maine, Oklahoma, and Kansas and the seats of these delegates were empty in retaliation to Clinton’s nominee status. Other delegates who showed their displeasure were from Oregon and none other than Norman Solomon.
Even the chairwoman of the party, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has handed in her resignation papers. But against all odds Hilary Clinton, emerges the winner stating impressively , “And if there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say: I may become the first woman president but one of you is next.”
Bill Clinton, former President of USA, was emotionally thrilled at this nomination and took over to give a moving speech of his association with his wife and her record of service calling her as the “best darn change-maker I know.”
The testimonials also had mothers who are urging on undeterred for reforms and who have lost their kids to unjust violence by the authorities. One of the mothers, Sybrina Fulton, whose son Tryvon Martin was shot during a watch volunteer activity of the neighborhood stated, “Hillary is one mother who can ensure our movement will succeed.”
Sen. Bernie Sanders was the other candidate who stood for the nomination and he made the announcement sportingly highlighting the unity of his party, though many of his supporters were unhappy with the choice and were evidently not agreeable to having Clinton as the nominee of the party.
